General Admission Requirements to Study Pharmacy in Nigeria


A. SSCE/O'Level Requirements


Before admission, students are expected to have obtained five credit passes in the O'level examinations which must include Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology and gotten from WAEC or NECO. Passing the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination and the entrance examinations into the Institution is one of the premium requirements for admission.

B. JAMB (UTME) Requirements


Candidates seeking admission to the five-year programme by UTME are required to possess credit in the following subjects in the West African School Certificate or its equivalent, in addition to the minimum University requirement prior to admission.;

  3. Mathematics
  4. Physics
  5. Biology

Direct Entry (JAMB)

Direct entry students seeking admission to the four-year programme must have a pass in Chemistry and Physics plus Biology or Botany or Zoology at the Higher School Certificate (Principal Level) with credit in English Language and Mathematics in the West African School Certificate or its equivalent.

The passes at the Advanced level should have been obtained at not more than two sittings. The Faculty also admits degree holders from related disciplines as stipulated in each year’s Direct Entry perspective, provided they have also the requisite University Matriculation Examination requirements.
