ASUU Strike: An Open Letter To All University Students And Their Parents

It so obvious that many Nigerian parents whose children are schooling in public universities fault ASUU for embarking on a long time strike.

Some ignorant parents have being blaming and even abusing the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU for going on a industrial action.

Even though, it's a sad story that students are still at home for more than eight (8) months now, as a result of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU ongoing strike.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU has undergone many difficulties to ensure the country education sector is improved.

However, it is unfortunate that the Academic Staff Union of Universities and the Federal Government are still battling over the poor education quality in the public universities.

While some ungrateful parents have nothing to do rather than to destroy ASUU's effort towards providing better education quality.

Nigerians should be grateful for ASUU's frequent strikes because our leaders have shown less concern towards public education.

Our politicians don't usually show their concern over the poor masses in public education, they rather send their children abroad to study without obstructions.

Even though there are ungrateful parents who blame ASUU for going on strike not knowing that they are fighting for a better education for their children.

It is so unfortunate that our politicians only ensure that their children are given the best education abroad, while poor children are here suffering with low quality education in Nigeria.

Recall that when ASUU went on strike, they always demand for funding from government to repair and provide all the needful to public universities.

It was through the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, effort that TETFUND was creative by the bad government.

TETFUND today is the only source of providing infrastructural amenities in Nigerian Universities. So people who are ignorant are the ones saying ASUU is wasting their students time.

As a matter of fact the Association has attempted a great deal, I recommend no Nigerian Undergraduate or guardian should blame ASUU for going on strike anymore.
