FG, ASUU meeting ends in deadlock for Seventh time.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU and FG Met for the seventh time today to finalize talks to end the 9 months strike of the Union.

Today's meeting started officially at 02:35 PM with negotiating members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities and the FG led by the Minister for Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige.

The national president of ASUU, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, said the position of the Union members had been documented and was revealed to the minister in the course of the meeting.

The Meeting Between FG and ASUU today ended in deadlock again for the seventh time. The Union shifted ground on FG's offer but insisted payment of outstanding salaries must not be done through IPPIS platform if strike would be suspended.

ASUU describes the current offers by the Federal Government as 'mere', as the union demands immediate  implementation before the strike will be suspended.
